Bayona French-Mediterranean Restaurant
Location & Contact:
Located in a romantic Creole cottage in the historic French Quarter. Chef Susan Spicer prepares her nationally acclaimed French-Mediterranean cuisine which has given Bayona the distinction as one of the top restaurants in the United States.
Each of the three dining rooms has its own signature: the Dyer Room with its trompe loeil depicting the Mediterranean countryside created by artist Joel Dyer; the Bayona Room with its stained-glass accents and picture window; and the main dining room, which is dominated by gorgeous arrangements of flowers.
Our patio is also open for dining most of the year, as weather permits. It is landscaped with lush tropical greenery, colorful fruit trees, and a gently gurgling fountain, much the same way Creole families maintained their private gardens hundreds of years ago. The intimate wine room is an additional treasure that is secluded from the bustle of the rest of the dining rooms. It is lined with elegant wine bins, exposed beams and also serves as a private banquet room Monday Thursday.
All of our dining rooms are non-smoking and cell-phone free.
The requested attire at Bayona is casually elegant, or business casual. We do not require coats or ties for gentlemen.
Type of Meals Served:
Defying definition or simple classification, Susan Spicer’s food moves across a spectrum of styles and influences with only one unifying thread: the best ingredients, with their tastes always being allowed to shine through. Flavorful, balanced yet complex is Bayona’s ever-evolving menu that includes daily specials and seasonal offerings.
You’ll find hints of the Mediterranean, the Far East, North Africa, France, Italy and the whole of the United States. Chef Spicer refuses to be tied down to a single tradition or genre and because of that, dining at Bayona is always a unique experience. Bayona is also sensitive to the needs of vegetarians, vegans and those with other specific diets. There is always a daily vegetarian special available, and we are able to work with almost anyone’s dietary concerns.
